Hey there! 👋 I'm Oluwatobi Olowu, I’m all about making digital experiences unforgettable. I'm a UI/UX Product Designer with a passion for crafting user-friendly software, web, and mobile interfaces. My journey in the design world has been a thrilling ride through Finance, Government, Start-Ups, Social Media & Entertainment, E-commerce, Manufacturing, and Logistics over the past five years. Recently, I received the esteemed endorsement as an exceptional talent for the Global Talent Visa UK, an acknowledgement of my dedication to the world of Design and Technology.
What Drives Me
In a world filled with imperfections, I'm on a mission to make things just right. I'm a firm believer in iteration, constantly refining and improving designs to create products that users truly love. My approach revolves around turning user feedback into actionable insights, and I thrive on the challenge of solving complex design problems.
Tools of the Trade
My design toolkit is packed with goodies like Figma, Miro, Invision, Adobe Creative Suite, Zeplin, Adobe XD, Balsamiq, and a knack for HTML, CSS, WordPress and Webflow. Whether it's wireframing, prototyping, user research, Design Sprints, Information architecture, or interaction design, I'm equipped to handle it all.
Work Experience Highlights
Since June 2022, I've been championing the charge in redesigning Appzone’s Bankone Core Banking SaaS, involving extensive user research across Africa. I've also led the design of key SaaS API management systems and mobile & Internet banking applications, contributing to increased client satisfaction rates outside daily BAU.
I wear many hats, including mentoring and coaching over 30 young and talented designers in CVSpan, guiding them towards successful careers in UX Design and Product Management. I regularly conduct learning presentations and walk them through real-life product design processes and design thinking.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working on various impactful projects, including the redesign of InvestNow, launching the UNDP CEWERS to address conflicts in northern Nigeria, and championing the redesign of Signature Bank's website. I've also lent my expertise to multiple website design projects, such as CVSpan, Littlenemo UK Nursery, SelectPayout, and many more.
Design Process
I usually adopt a non-Linear design thinking process. The process is perfect for situations where the overall challenge is not clear or you have problems that are yet unknown.
I’m following the same flow in the different projects in this Portfolio. However, in solving the problem for different range of clients, the flow is not necessarily cast on stone from end to end. It can begin from any stage and run back to the other. These are dependent on different factors. For example a Design Project where the User research has been done by the Client, or the Stakeholder want to hit the ground running with an already known product, or a Digital transformation project.
